  • Monday morning musings.

Was a busy weekend decorating the house, setting up the xmas tree and working here.  Wanted to take as much time AWAY from the studio as I reasonably could with a deadline only 2 weeks away here.  Still a few things on my mind this morning as I prepare for another LOOOONNNNGGG day in the studio here. First off, I didn't get a chance ...

  • Quick random thoughts for Tuesday.

I'm groggy this morning. I have a bit of a headache as well, which doesn't mix with being groggy very well at all.  The good thing is, that I don't have to go anywhere today to get to work. The roads are a mess my wife informed me after dropping the kids off at school.  So once I imbibe enough coffee this morning to actually ...

  • new site, new direction

the portfolio site has been updated with the start of the new direction that I’m planning on heading in here in the studio. New colors, simpler (I hope) navigation, and a soon to be expanding digital painting section being featured. The first of my new canvas prints is scheduled to arrive today via Fed Ex, so I’m eagerly ...

  • Artistic Vision

so every one of my books I'm coloring is on hold for one reason or another right now.  I spent the weekend away with the wife for our anniversary and also contemplating my future artistic focus.  Also spent the latter part of yesterday, and some time this morning doing the same thing-trying to figure out what direction to take.  ...

  • Lost in the shuffle.

Been a strange couple of days here. I'm getting myself ahead of deadlines here this week, not sleeping well though. My thoughts have been greatly distracted by exploding planets, spaceships, dark alleys and lights in the night sky. Probably too much comic book information to process or something. Today is one of those days as an artist, ...

  • Recast as child and mystic sage.

Working hard today here in the studio. However I’ve also really been thinking a lot about my future creative endeavors here. There are a lot of ideas I’ve been kicking around here in the last month or so, on my own and with others. I think I need to find time to meditate and just really lose myself in thoughts for a while in the ...

  • The Yin and Yang of Life

The last week has been rather rough.  However nothing to the point of making life itself seem a terrible thing.  We all experience stress and hardship from time to time.  I've frankly had much worse things happen in my life, and while I have been a bit stressed lately, it hasn't been the sort of thing to make me lose sleep ...

  • Impromptu studio tour!

so yesterday I had a REAL sore back, still sore today, but I realized it was likely a combination of having slept on it wrong the previous night, and also the height at which I was working with my new Cintiq.  So after getting some things done, I HAD to rearrange my entire studio so I could work on the Cintiq in a more comfortable way.  ...

  • Stop stalling, make a name for yourself.

going to attempt to find that artistic zone again today.  there's a lot of stuff going on this week here, kids are home from school for a few days I think, and have a couple half days as well.  I'm on the verge of having that "feeling" that you get sometimes as an artist, where you think you're about to get a ...
