• Re: Manji's Sketchbook

This is a damn fine sketchbook you've compiled here; beats the pants off some of the tripe I scribble down in mine some times! As fabled mentioned, you've got a superb confidence that shows your experience in each image. Looking forward to seeing more.

  • Re: SnarG's e-Tome of Sketchiness

These days I carry a sketchpad with me everywhere so that I can jump on the inspiration whenever it hits, which has resulted in a lot of sketches. So in an attempt to save myself the time and effort of uploading 30+ pages of sketches I have combined them into one enormous, uber-image. It's hosted on imageshack so that the vastness of the image ...

Yet another class entry from Banj. Lots of super-duper, spiffy, fantastique entries this week. Back pats to all.

I've had no time to work on this since my last wip, so it's not finished and I'm not really that fond of it anyway so I'll probably not go back to finish it. However, entries must be made or the master cracks his whip (banj can be a very cruel overlord!).

Ok, a few changes, mainly in the lighting. Done some more Artraging (my new verb) on the background and also added in the hand and sword (went for a fantasy-style sword instead). It's ludicrously late here in the UK and I should have gone to bed hours ago, so I'm going to go pay my bed a visit. Darn artwork keeping me awake!

Touch more progress, mostly detailing the robe and the new shield. Next step is to take the plunge and try to draw that hand holding the sword! Why can't humans just have mitts for hands? I'm thinking falcata for the sword.

It would give him a more sturdy pose if I shifted the leg to the left, but do you think it adds dynamism or justs makes him look off balance as it is? This one is Photoshop with a hint of Artrage paint splashing for the background. Not sure how much of that will still be showing through when I've finished though; it was mostly just because I ...

Splashed a little more onto this. Still not 100% sure where it's leading but I'm going with it. Could use some advice about his right leg. His posture is a little unbalanced by the angle of that leg but in some ways I think it adds a touch of movement to his pose. I'm reluctant to shade it until I'm happy with the position.

I may or may not continue with this. It's just typical fantasy stuff - guy holding sword and some magical accoutrements about his person. I'm not really being motivated by this sketch but I'm drawing blanks on doing something original today. Not sure what I'm doing with that background either; I got a little bit paint-happy in ...

  • Re: February 2008 Challenge: Underwater Discovery - WIP Thread

Echo:blimey haven't entered a monthly for ages. Here's mine, it's a bit further along than I thought it would be. I'm a tad concerned it's a little dark, what do you guys think? Any other crit is welcomed. Going for quality over quantity this year :) Hey Echo, thought I hadn't seen your name around the challenges for a ...
