Ugh, I've been there plenty of times -- often when I open/edit a text layer in Photoshop, or make a shape tween in Flash. It's gotten to a point now where I can see it coming, when there's a slight stutter. The sad irony is that you tend to forget to save when you get really into a rhythm in a piece. Can't adobe release some sort ...

The leap from CS3 to CS4 is a lot bigger than CS2 to CS3, but depending on what you want to do, CS3 should be fine -- it's served me well enough

That's quite alright -- I should really be making my own brushes anyway :P
One small thing though, the only problem now is that the "center" of the cursor (the little
crosshair) is now in the top left corner of the brush shape, so when i
push harder, the blob of the brush emanates from the top left corner,

I'd love some of those binders as well -- I've been subscribing since issue 1 so I'll have to splash out for at least three -- I wonder if they could have each binder to allocate each particular "season/year"? IFX is one of the few magazines I've kept with me for reference/reading, so a way to keep 'em all together ...

That's so weird -- I'm positive that I've gotten it down to 1 pixel before...
Okay, I think I've solved it: What I've done is make my own brush out of a black, 1x1 pixel image, and set the Control to "pen pressure". It seems to work in the same way the default Hardbrush used to, and the shape of the pencil cursor ...

That's okay -- it's not pressing or anything, but it's more of a real annoyance than anything else, and I don't generally draw the comic until evening times anyway, so I'll be online tonight if you find anything :)

I've edited the top post to make it a bit clearer :D

Nah, it was just the default setting that came with both the program and the tablet driver. The pencil is just the one that you get when you switch to the pencil tool, "hardbrush"
-
Brush image is now in the top post.
Cheers for helping by the way

It's really hard to explain -- and i've posted a pic that sort of shows the problem i'm having -- but basically i think i've fixed it to a point where the brush is now "circular", but i'm still having the problem wherein when i release the pressure on the brush stroke, the smallest it will go is three pixels in both ...
