• Commissions - Urgent

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, just a re-post from my journal. So, Ive been unemployed for 13 weeks, my £1000 Redundacy has been whittled down to £100 and Im up for a review today where depending on if they are actual human being or vampire Nazis from Pluto, I could get my benefits cut off. So, here's the ...

  • Back again, Now with 20% less Suck!

Hey there, its been a while since I last posted on the forums here, mainly because Ive just been away in a corner working, that and trying to get a new job. heh. Ive been trying hard to get a more painted look to my work, rather than just slapping on textures Ive been using textured brushes to give my art more depth. Ive also been focusing on ...

  • Re: Gruntsposion WIP (Halo Humour Fanart)

Sorted out the shadows, re-did the snow texture and started work on some basic cloud shapes. Currently wondering about painting some snowflakes in the air, as it could make the picture a little too busy. Also redid the plasma trail as the Grunt runs hysterically in circles. Apparently it happens alot in game. ...

  • Re: Boredom produces results

The green was a specific tint of specialist Chinese watercolor I loaned off a friend, and man did that stuff do the trick. As for the way I used the brush, I just wanted something with alot of energy, so there were plenty of quick strong marks to work with the brushpen and the texture of the Canvas.

  • Re: Gruntsposion WIP (Halo Humour Fanart)

My computer keeps cutting out due to the heat, so I sadly cant get much done before Photoshop blacks out, but heres a quick update. I made use of the brushes in issue 22 by Marta Dahlig on the Plasma Grenade, as well as the ice patterns and the very simple snow overlay. I am planning on hand painting the 'main' snow forms on a seperate ...

  • Re: Gruntsposion WIP (Halo Humour Fanart)

Full view of everything up to date, with shadows, detailing and composition. Obviously the next phase is the fix the sky, with some painted clouds and perhaps some snow, considering the fact that its a snow based location. http://www.halomovies.org/index.cfm?fid=1471 Also, I'm currently changing the Orange grunts gas-mask, as at the moment ...

  • Re: Gruntsposion WIP (Halo Humour Fanart)

Started blocking in the color and detail on the orange Grunt, added some depth to the background, and added the Banshee (purple aircraft) to the scene. The cloud filter sky is Obviously filler. Im going to be trying to draw in some clouds based off a tutorial in the mag.

  • Re: Flauros

Ok, so looking back after a month or two it was clear to see what needed changing, so I worked a bit more on it today. I fixed the demon so it now seems alot more striking, and tried to make it look more indistinct, like the heat from it is distorting it. I also tried to add more of a red light to the image, again coming from the Flauros ...
