• Re: Sketchbook Pro update - 2010 news

Well, lets hope and pray to the [various] GODS that this next version is more than an interim disappointment. @ Nick - tell them you won't be doing the box art for 2010 if they don't skim any across the pond for us. Watch them cry. ;P

  • Re: GIMP Reference Guide

I would suggest reading the GIMP help file / program documentation, which is available from GIMP.org. Thats likely the best way to find out the specific info you want. Failing that I would recommend just playing with it. Depending on your questions I may be able to help you out.

  • Re: Using pen pressure with brushes

Check that your tablet is set to pen mode in the tablet preferences. The thing you don't want to have is it set to mouse mode etc as that could account fot the issue perhaps. Other than that, make sure you have your tablet plugged in before you start photoshop as it may not pick it up the other way round. Hope that helps

  • Re: Nickillus' Sketchbook

You're quite the advocate for Artrage dear Nickillus! Do you prefer it to other things? I thought about upgrading to the new release of Sketchbook Pro, but thought again as ยฃ40 extra for a paint bucket isn't what i'd call progress, or a bargain. I'm glad to see you're doing more illos in the mag - that latest ImagineNation pic was great.

  • Re: Where do absent MFX Members go?

koshime:the real question is where do real hamsters go when they put their paint brushes down :) When they put their brushes down, they aren't gone. They just take a step back from their work, and curse at it in a french accent and shake their little beret'd heads going ''Non non non non non..'' @Fabledgoat - was that a naughty list you ...

Why wait until CS4 comes out?, give it 3 months after its released, and then buy CS5 instead. ;)

  • Re: Looking to upgrade from The GIMP to something a bit stronger - need advice.

Hey Hal As Gix quite rightly said, I do use GIMP and also Sketchbook Pro2. GIMP is one of those apps that you really need to explore - putting aside any expectations of it being like photoshop. Its does a lot of things that are very similar but a lot of things that are very different. Photoshop and Wacom tablets are designed to work with ...

  • Re: Dragon sketch - Head

Looking very nice so far! Be mindful that the highlights on the ice won't be as bright as the light source itself, try and use the lighting to make the focal points 'pop'. I would also echo the comments about the eyes. This is just personal preference but, I don't think the small horns on the top/front end of the snout add ...
