actually a work in progress wich i will update almost daily. its my actual challangeentry in the illustration part of cgtalk's eon challenge inspired by a novel from Greg Bear - the challenge ends Jan 07 so many recent updates on this piece can be expected on this. see steps - the whole documented progress here

I might make the Eon text a bit larger, try a reflection from the orange portal highlighting it? I really like the purple backdrop and detail. I've never read the book, but it makes me want to!
