One of the illustrations done for King of Houston universe.
The idea was to create a mystical mood, like in the forests from north Japan, with no human trace (wild).

Edit: Since I got asked often - the image was done using a mix of painting, 3d and reference (matte painting)
Most of the detail, water, light and clouds are hand painted or using a custom tree brush; The base of the image is a 3D render, while the big pine tree in the right foreground is a photo reference.
