Zakusca by Monica Trica

Zacuscă (IPA: [za.'kus.kə]) is a vegetable spread very popular in Romania. Similar spreads are found in other countries throughout, or bordering the Balkans. It's a very colorful dish.

I was looking for a title for my new painting, so I showed it to a friend. I think it was the colors that made her say "but this is our cat Zakusca!" So Zakusca it is!

The kittycat is painted, with one photo overlay. I went for a semirealistic look, with some photographic blurring effects. You can see the stock photo I used here: http://www.sxc.hu/browse.phtml?f=view&id=454459

Done with my Wacom tablet.

I think the title speaks for itself...love, people, 3 puppets, strings, love again...sounds a bell?

ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA:A puppeteer is a person who manipulates an inanimate object—a puppet—to create the illusion of life. A puppeteer can operate a puppet either by the use of strings, rods, wires or simply their own hands.

The strong back light is there cuz...love is blind? or blinding anyway. No strings! they're invisible.

MEDIA: all's painted(Photoshop CS and my Adesso tablet) but the drapes(photomanipulated) reference from a photo I found in morguefile.com
