X Marks the Spot

This is the first image in my 7 sci-fi/fantasy pin-up series. It was created using Corel Painter with just a bit of traditional media thrown in.

I wanted to keep to the classic sultry green alien, you know the kind Cpt. Kirk would have sought after. Although halfway through I decided to make her a space pirate, cause why not space pirates are awesome.

Giga Slave

This was done as a book cover. A fun way for me to practice making book covers, this is not official. It's for the first novel in the Slayers book series. Normally the illustrations are done in a very animeish style. So I wanted to try and see what would happen in my style.

I used Painter for this piece.

Waiting in the Mist

This is a digital painting I did of a friend of mine. She's the same friend who is in the Zombie Cannon piece. So in a way this was kind of a precursor to that piece. Who knows there could be zombies in the mist.

I drew it out with a blue pencil then used Corel painter on top.

Comic War

This illustration was done for a magazine cover. The main article was about comic books that have been made into movies. So the illustration I made showed a great battle for your movie going dollars.

There were also some fun little aspects I put into the piece. I made the blood splatter on V's mask the same as the Comedian's button. And the missile that the Joker is using is a Spartan missile. Got to love visual puns.

Cinderella

This illustration is from the story of Cinderella. the only difference is that the setting was changed from its normal European one to that of Japan.

The research for this piece was probably the most fun part. I kept trying to figure out what would make the best fairy god-mother. So I read tons of folktales till I found Ho-oh, which was perfect.

Haunted

I made this primarily in Painter, but with some use of Photoshop. Mostly I used PS just to edit the layers and change contrast. All the brushwork was done in Painter.

It is a remake of the cover for Fatal Frame 2. I really enjoyed the game so for an exercise I wanted to put my own twist on it. I wanted to see what i could do.

Zombie Cannon

This is a test 2-page spread for a small comic I was working on. Just wanted to play with fight scenes and zombies, so yeah fun times.

It was done in Painter. I started playing more with textures in this one. I was pleased with how I integrated them.
