I really love the way you have painted this one. The lightness of strokes and texture gives an amazing feeling technical reserves in the painting. I like the dynamic composition and the contrast in the characters. Are they being expulsed in to the abyss or are they trying to escape the light?

Bodker: Firstly I'm sorry for the delay in replying - I have had problems with my account for a while now! Anyhow, thanks for the insightful comments. I find your question very ineresting, because as I painted the image my thoughts and feelings were quite chaotic and mixed. I actually had a dream of a similar scenario and I am not sure of it's true meaning. There's a lot of symbolism in the painting with all the main characters facing the darkness ahead. Some marching towards it and others looking on. I am not certain why, and I prefer it that way. I think it offers numerous stories and depends entirely on the viewer. I have my own interpretation of it but I'd rather keep it private so that people can make their own mind up about what's going on. Anyhow, it's a wonderful feeling to know that you took the time to examine what's going on within the picture so thank you. All the best :)
