&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="2"&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="2"&gt;Joop Jumbiligo, seen here, is the fellow whose initiative and quick thinking saves Googly and Toohumple from being horribly pecked to pieces by&amp;nbsp;a deadly, flip-flappy&amp;nbsp;flock of Yutlian saw-toothed eyeball pokers, which they encounter on a hair-brained&amp;nbsp;expedition into the big, deep, dreadfully smelly pothole of death.&amp;nbsp; the crows away from her corn patch, or takin&amp;#39; pot-shots at any poor strangers that wanders off the beaten track an&amp;#39;&amp;nbsp;comes within &amp;quot;poppin&amp;#39; distance&amp;quot; of her hollow hickory&amp;nbsp;tree.&amp;nbsp; Tobias didn&amp;#39;t mean no harm when he took the head off the scarecrow... he just kinda liked it.&amp;nbsp; He&amp;#39;s a simple kinda fella, an&amp;#39; he ain&amp;#39;t got no real friends, so when he got t&amp;#39; talkin&amp;#39; with the scarecrow, an&amp;#39; it didn&amp;#39;t say nuthin&amp;#39; nasty t&amp;#39; him -&amp;nbsp;like&amp;nbsp;the folks around Ricketsville is usually inclined t&amp;#39; do -&amp;nbsp;he decided t&amp;#39; take it home an&amp;#39; sit it on his front porch rockin&amp;#39; chair.&amp;nbsp; a purfect place for it t&amp;#39; sit, he reckoned, so he could see its big happy face smilin&amp;#39; at him, an&amp;#39; he could talk t&amp;#39; it whenever he felt the need.&amp;nbsp; Well, everythin&amp;#39;&amp;nbsp;seemed pretty&amp;nbsp;hunky, an&amp;#39; Tobias an&amp;#39; the scarecrow head was gett&amp;#39;n&amp;#39;&amp;nbsp;along just fine, until some no-good son of a monkey&amp;nbsp;told Granny Crabnipple that&amp;nbsp;ol&amp;#39; Tad&amp;nbsp;Tonkerton&amp;#39;s boy was harborin&amp;#39; somethin&amp;#39; that belonged t&amp;#39; her.&amp;nbsp; Quicker than you could&amp;nbsp;slap a blood-bloated&amp;nbsp;skeeter, she jumped up an&amp;#39; strapped on her wooden roller skates, then she grabbed her gun and&amp;nbsp;shot off in a cloud of dust down to Brokejaw Junction, where she&amp;nbsp;knowed&amp;nbsp;the Tonkertons&amp;#39; used t&amp;#39; stay.&amp;nbsp; Now, the thing is, back in their younger days, Tad Tonkerton an&amp;#39; Granny was kinda sweet on each other, an&amp;#39; they was even itchin&amp;#39; t&amp;#39; git hitched, but Tad&amp;#39;s pappy, ol&amp;#39; strapped on her wooden roller skates, then she grabbed her gun and&amp;nbsp;shot off in a cloud of dust down to Brokejaw Junction, where she&amp;nbsp;knowed&amp;nbsp;the Tonkertons&amp;#39; used t&amp;#39; stay.&amp;nbsp; Now, the thing is, back in their younger days, Tad Tonkerton an&amp;#39; Granny was kinda sweet on each other, an&amp;#39; they was even itchin&amp;#39; t&amp;#39; git hitched, but Tad&amp;#39;s pappy, ol&amp;#39; &lt;DIV&gt;Ever since I happened upon his work a couple of years ago, I've been hugely inspired by the French artist/illustrator Jean-Baptiste Monge's wonderful creations, and I find myself revisiting his site from time to time, just to see if there's anything new on display. He is, quite simply, an imaginative genius! Frustrating to find that there don't seem to be any English translations of his books as yet... in fact, even the French copies are obtainable only through French Amazon, or direct from the publisher. Anyhow, here's an "ever so 'umble 'omage" to the man and his work. Fishing for sticklebacks.&lt;/DIV&gt;
