CirQue de SPecTacuLaiRe!!

A piece for CGSociety's 'Spectacular' challenge, which has also spawned a personal project (too much to do, too little time!?). It was about a boy called Joseph and was inspired by my grandad's childhood in Salford, Manchester. It came fourth in the contest which got me a copy of Painter IX and a swanky ATi graphics card... If you've got time for a portfolio piece it's always worth entering a CGSociety challenge!!

Monkey Girl: The Chase

Monkey Girl is a character i created for CGSociety's 'Machineflesh' challenge. The image i produced for the challenge was one of my first digital illustrations and i wasn't that happy with it, so i did this image a few months later. I was playing around with my style and the way i used brushes and paint in Photoshop. I've been too busy with work and other personal stuff for the last year or so to develop Monkey Girl further, but i've got a whole story in my head that i'm going to have to get in comic form at some point!

This was a painting for CGSociety's 'Master and Servant' challenge. I didn't finish the challenge on time because my daughter was born two weeks early and two weeks before the deadline!! So i finished it later, just for fun. It's also spawned a perosnal project, so there may be more to come......
