Wolverine vs T-Rex

I've always been fond of Marvel superheroes characters and I actually still love them.

In particular, together with the Hulk, one of my favourites is Wolverine, the wild canadian from the X-Men.

Here's my latest. I imagined him fighting with a terrible T-Rex !

I was inspired from the "Aliens" movies with Sigourney Weaver although the girl below sure doesn't look like her and sure Mrs Weaver never handled a sword against her enemy.

I imagined a warrior girl, exploring the dark and abandoned interiors of a spacecraft, ready to use her sword against the alien suddenly appeared but immediately hypnotized from the light coming from the above tentacle ....

What will happent to the unlucky girl ... ? Will the alien kill her ... ?

The theme is "Paint you favourite fairytale" and, as it's possible to paint it the way you want, I imagined this "weird" version of the classic fairytale.

"The Ship is almost ready to leave.
While the Guardian looks worried at the above crows, flying in circles and surely bringing dark forebodings, clouds are closing up avoiding the sun to enlight the scene.
The engines are roaring, giving off hot flames from the exhaust pipes.
We are ready to go. It's time to cast off the moorings and meet soon our final destination ... "

This is my first attempt in matte painting.
All the files used are coming from Stockexchange http://www.sxc.hu
Added painting work in Photoshop.
Total work 8 hours.

I wanted to create a sort of world of fantasy with some sci-fi mixed and reproduce the feelings of the ship's captain, Sir Gahal Trestenjohl, writing on the ship's journal, almost ready to leave.

I'm quite pleased with this piece. I hope you like it.
