A freelance project which was to paint a scene of sci-fi theme with a female character. I used a photograph as a reference for painting the background, and modified it to look like the surface of Mars. I also used references for the pose and lighting.

 

Done in Photoshop CS with 3 layers, roughly 15+ hours.
