I decided that I would create a series of portraits based around the seasons. I haven't done a lot with scenery or environments so I wanted to challenge myself to learn how to do some of that.

Some explanation of the summery imagery I've included:
*the firey sky makes me think of summer...maybe because of fireworks and awesome sunsets?
*the dress is light and summery
*the girl and her can are sitting on the edge of a large body of water...I imagine the lake because of all the summer evening's I've spend on the edge of one
*the red...summer is hot and red seems like a hot color to me
*stormy clouds...thunderstorms are a big part of my summer memories

My son loves that cat...he always asks to see this picture because of it. I did use a photo reference for the cat, but only very loosely. I find that I love painting animals whenever they make their ways into the composition of my pictures...so maybe I should do something more animal-centric sometime?
