Ha, ha, ha, ha, I'm starting the daily sketch challenge! The text below is copied and pasted from the last year's challenge.

THE CHALLENGE RULES;

PLEASE LIMIT YOUR POSTED IMAGES TO 150K MAXIMUM FILE SIZE. AN EASY WAY TO DO THIS IS MAKE IMAGES NO LARGER THAN 450PIXELS WIDE AT 72PPI.

You are challenged to post a small sketch each day into this collaborative sketchbook.

1 point for each consecutive day you create a new sketch.

Post on the day you do the sketch where possible. If you can't then post your sketches when you get the chance. You could even post weekly with thumbnails of your 7 sketches condensed into one image.

Make a note of your day / point number with each post.

If you don't draw for a day your current score re-sets to zero.

You can start the challenge whenever you want and keep it up for as long as you can. To be added to the IFX elite list of hardcore sketchers you must hit 365 consecutive days.

365 is not meant to be easy but it should be fun to try.

Thanks for posting Cano - it saves me and kaz some effort I did make it sticky, though so hopefully others will have no problem finding it.

EDIT: PS Cano I have no social life either, but after 3 am (and well before) I'm usually asleep! Happy New Year's to you too!

And a new year calls for something almost like new year's resolutions (I never make promises, 'cause I can't keep 'em) so I thought I'd try to join in... We'll see how soon I manage to forget

Day 1, points 1

(Should perhaps mention that it's the same person in all three images although they look dissimilar: mostly I'm interested in drawing realistic humans, not specific individuals but that said I guess I was sloppy in different ways while sketching. First 2 from photo ref - one paying attention to line the other to proportion but with sloppier lines - and the last using the first two as ref but not the photo. It's how I usually use reference: draw it from ref first and then without, so later your painting isn't any kind of exact copy but just uses the memory of the reference. That's the idea anyway and it suits me since I haven't much patience for following refs anyway...)

I´m also in again, after i was gone for quite some time... I got myself an kalendar with 365 pictures from all over the world (to have inspiration for everyday and no excuse..) so I hopefully will be posting for some time here (=

at least Day 1, 1 Point, 364 to go .......

I used to love drawing and haven't done in ages.

I thought this challenge would be a perfect opportunity to get me back into it and rebuild my confidence so here goes...

As it was on TV today, a little doodle of 'Up'. Also an excuse to try out the tablet Santa left under the tree :)

Snow Day Speedpaint.

 This is a speedpaint I did yesterday, Was not sure if this would be accepted as a sketch, this took about an hour or so. I wanted to see if I could work with snow and work on my mountains a bit.

I would to like to take part in this, alas my life is way too complex. father got out of hospital two weeks before Christmas and since then ive had no more than 3 hours sleep in a night. thats on top of being ill myself.

I will try and post a few images as and when i can - cant post from my android tablet where i do most of my art nowadays because this forum wont allow.
