Deadline:

Midnight (GMT) on Monday 30th April. There is a 5 minute grace period allowing people to get their posts and links sorted. A moderator will then post a list of valid entries after checking links and voting will begin and continue until midnight (GMT) on 7th of the following month. Crits are welcomed during the voting process. Toward the end of the current challenge a new challenge setter will be randomly chosen from those taking part in the WIP thread to set the next monthly challenge, so keep an eye out.

Two separate wips must be posted in the wip thread and clickable links must be posted in the final thread with the final image. A link is provided below to details of how to do this. You will be disqualified if you do not post WIP links correctly. If you have a problem posting wips or creating links please pm me. 

All artwork must be the work of the entrant, and completed within the time frame of the challenge. You may only enter 1 entry per challenge, and may only cast 1 set of votes during voting.



Please keep entries and WIPs below 500k and a maximum of 1000 pixels across. Larger files causes problems for all users, especially those on slower connections.



Moderators monitor the voting in these challenges to combat cheating and maintain fairness. We may discount any vote we consider suspicious, and will disregard any attempts at sabotaging the voting, or in any way screwing with these challenges.

I've been getting the magazine since the first issue so it's about time I made some contribution to the forums.

I like the theme this month and it is almost a further development on a picture i finished recently called Meeting Place

Here's my first sketch of the Sky Harbour

I suppose I'll give this challenge a try..got to practice more!

I like the atmosphere in your sketch Naszia. It's nice and warm.

 Midscrawl, the idea of the air balloon holding the harbour up is pretty cool.

My latest doodle 

Don't know that I've got the chops to really pull this off, but nothing ventured nothing gained I guess. I figured there'd be plenty of pieces emphasizing the sky portion so I thought I'd try the harbour bit. Excuse my craptastic rendition of a flying boat. :) Going to have to whip together a 3D version to get the perspective if I go with this.

I love your word "craptastic" but I don't think it applies to your sketch. It has a nice dynamic feel to it.

I'll be messing around with 3D too, to get some ideas on shapes and buildings. Looking forward to seeing more sketches.
