    Right, Here's a sketch for a steampunk character... not too original, but one has to start somewhere!

    Just lines at the moment, but let me know what you think.

    Because of the nature of having a drawing with such bold and dark lines I think I will do a couple of versions of this in the end. One will keep the lines and be coloured from behind and the other(s) will lose them in favour of more realistic contrast/shadow delineation and overpainting. Let's see how it turns out!

    It's a great drawing, Dom. It's got tons of energy, and I love the bulkiness of the arm. I read an article by Sam Nielsen recently about laying in color, and you just reminded me of it.

    Personally I like the thick lines they add a nice sence of movement to the piece and I'm a sucker for heavy black lines.

    Got a little colouring done on this. I am having a lot of fun trying this more cartoony style.

    I want to give the drawing a paint-on-cell feel. After this, I want to do a more traditional version and try to improve my more graphic side, because after reading that interview with Dave Rapoza in the latest IFX I am inspired to try a bit harder! 

    Feedback is welcome.

    Ok. I really do need some feedback now. I cannot think of a background.

    Please help with some suggestions.

    Here's where I'm up to. It's simplistic but I'm having loads of fun with it.

    She works in a steam punk post office and she has to put loads of steampost into the steampipes! cos it all travels by steam! tubes. and stuff.

    Maybe her arm is a cool over-the-top modification to help her sort post faster?!!? lol thats the first thing i thought when i saw the notice board!

    oh, if only my office was like that!  :)  Cool idea.  She could have some kind of robotic helper to do filing.  Or maybe that's wishful thinking on my behalf.

    This is my latest update. But I am bored with it now and will probably move on...... damn my short attention span!!

    I will admit there is loads to do, but even so, as it stands I am reasonably happy with it.

    What do you think?
