    Jackie Chan

    Attachment: chansmall.jpg

Done for Caricaturama Challenge. I'm hoping participation in a few challenges will help me speed up. That's the plan anyway.

Aw you captured all his cuteness! (Well, maybe that wasn't your intention, but you did)

I'm not entirely sure what I think of the "background collar" that makes his head look detached... Overall I think the image looks great, though.

Thanks Voluspa. I have a soft spot for "detached" heads on flat-painted bodies but maybe it's not always successful. You're not the first to quiz the approach. Oh, and I was going for cute. I only know Chan through the dumb movies he has made in Hollywood.

Nicely done, Joe. Definitely captured his silliness when he smiles like that. And agree about the neck thing too. Not only does it make it appear detached, but it also draws attention to that area.

Awesome, Joe. Spot-on likeness. And the way you handled the skin is really amazing.

Excellently done, the skin tones are beautifully laid down, and the details in the hair are superb!

The collar/not collar issue, the colour works, but it does draw a lot of attention, to the point it just doesnt look finished, even just a slightly darker gold line to mark the edges would break it up enough maybe? The flat painted body really does look good, I thought there were details in it till I scrolled up to look again, I guess the eye really does add what you think you should be seeing.

Excellent likeness, and brilliantly painted all round :)

I must agree with the colar observation, but that doesn't take away the fact that this is ace!

As a Jackie fan I personally think you have done the wacky little guy justice. The hands are wonderful too, I love the skin tones as well as the style of aplication.

If you get a chance, Joe, watch Drunken Master. Jackie at his finest!

Fantastic likeness. I don't mind the detached head thing, as it's obviously a deliberate design choice.

I used to take part in most of the Caricaturama challenges, but I've stopped since a particular member (who colluded in an attempt to rig the result in a Wittygraphy contest) was made an admin.
