    Bergy's Finished Workdky Work

Well for the first time I feel I finally have produced a piece that I can place in this section of the Forums. All illustration work was done in Artrage3. Done for the Weekly challenge here

Le Tarot, my take on the Major Arcana Card....#16 The Tower. C&C always welcomed.

I really like this.  The rectangle of lights, imposing a will of man ingenuity vs. the organic stone of the cavern.... cool stuff.  And it is a neat angle we don't see often.  Nice stuff.

Just wish to get a hint of the giant penny... <g>

    For the Weekly Challenge "Abomination"

I decided to take an opposite root from everyone else, and went with the "Problem Child" which to some may be seen as an  "Abomination".

    LOL,

Nor have I ever swung a cat by it tail Domtopia... Certainly not taking from life experience here. Worked for the best possible extreme for me with out getting more extreme.

Glad you liked it and thanks for the kind words.

    Best

I think it looks very nice! The girl's face could probably look cuter - I suggest you make it rounder and get rid of that wrinkle near her mouth.

Also, I think it will look awesome if you add clean, solid lines. It will definitely pop the piece and make it look professional, in my opinion.

New Weekly Challenge entry. Lyrical Styling #266

Went with an Iron Maiden song Fear of the Dark for the painting.

    The Lyrics:

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark

    I have a constant fear that something's

    Always near

Fear of the dark, fear of the dark

    I have phobia that someone's

    Always there

Pretty pleased with this one. Its the closet I've come to getting that Illustrative Mix Media feel....Which I've been after for since I started painting Digital.

    C&C Always welcomed.

    Best

    Mike

    Re: Bergy's Finished Workdky Work

It's excellent Bergy. The color palette is particularly impressive. It's an understated greenish which feels disquieting and clinical, then the fluorescents kick it into downright creepy, like a hospital morgue. I think it might be improved if the subjects were a tiny bit less sketchy -- I love the loose-ness of them and the subdued tones, but a touch more refinement might punch it up, particularly by hiding a bit more of the line-art on the living guy.

That said, it's still excellent and my reactions to it are immediate and visceral.
