    Riox's Sketchbook!

Hey guys, I didn't think I'd be starting a new sketchbook on here this year. However, I feel I can manage 2 Sketchbooks and 2 blogs now so I'm catching you guys up.

Here's 2012 so far. Hope you like.

    Studies

    Personal projects

    Deep Sea City

    The Forest King

    IFX Weekly Challenge "Abomination"

And here's my a current WIP which I need a little feedback on. Anything thats looks out of place in this image, please feel free to comment.

    Phoenix Dragon

Feedback on any of these would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

These look great, Riox. ... On the Phoenix Dragon pic, the only thing that stands out to me is the wing reads/appears to only be connected to just passed the elbow, where I would think it should be connected all the way up along the shoulder, and across part of the back, close to the spine. Hope this helps some.

    Re: Riox's Sketchbook!

Dave: Hey dave, thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean about the wing, I will look into that. I wanted it a have a bats wing anatomy rather than your typical dragon. It was rather silly of me to not realise a bat wing does connect to the back rather than the side. Cheers

Hey guys, just got another animal study for you. I'm enjoying doing these studies and I'm learning a lot from them.

    Hope you like.

    Feedback appreciated, cheers.

    Re: Riox's Sketchbook!

Studies are coming along very nicely as are the personal works!  Love the latest one and the elephant in the earlier post. I think for the creature I would at this time just try to push the form further in places, agree with Dave about the wing, not sure about placement but it looks a tad off connecting under the arm like that.   The further most hand, right in image looks like its not hanging onto the rock, or perhaps the right hand is attached to the left arm.

Keep doing what your doin though :)

MJ: Cheers for the feedback, it's very appreciated. I'll make sure that I connect that hand more firmly to the rock by the next WIP and hopefully sort that soding wing haha.

Hey guys, just dropping in with a quick photo study.

    Hope you like.

    Feedback appreciated, cheers.

Hey guys, just dropping in with another update.

Here's my finished Phoenix Dragon. I wanted to keep it loose to give the image life, what you think?

    Feedback appreciated, cheers.

I do have some sort of update for you all. It's not much but it's all I feel happy with posting. Hope you like.
