VERY nicely executed, JTW !!

 I dig it cos it makes it feel as if he IS the Underworld or rather a part of it, instead of just being its lord.

Only crit (personally) is that he looks a bit "old" there. I'd like to imagine him being more noble, and "elegant" looking, cos in my head he's the lord over dead souls/people as much as all the rest of the pantheon together are the "lords and ladies" of the mortal realm.

This picture looks fantastic!!
I adore your interpretation of Hades. It's very original e suits very well the character.
I really how you drew his eyes and nose and mouth, the angry experession is also amazing!
i think using the flames for his hair and also in his chin was a great idea.
I think the colouring is very well done, the textures are amazing, specially the rock texture in some parts of his head and neck.
In my opinion I just think that the reddish colors are a bit too vivid for a God of the underworld and also the red migth make some people mistake this God with Ares, god of war.
Still I realyl like this picture a lot! I'm very glad to see a character so originally done!

Nice take on the god, although he does look a bit flat, his shoulder and chin seem to have the most form, maybe you could expand that to the rest of his head?

Thanks for you comments guys, yeah I think the reason the picture took on a more flat look was down to me thinking about old roman coins, the heads on coins are great interpretations and have a quality of there own, thanks for your analysis though i'm always appreciative of anything constructive. As for Scotty Young I'm not that familiar actually but I will look into it,thanks fabledgoat
