    Ownership when following a workshop

    Hello!

I recently got found of following your workshops. Still in the learning phase of digital drawing I have to paint it quite similar as the workshop describes. If I dont, I feel everything gets wrong (maybe because I compare it to the final result from the workshops).

But I would love to get some feedback once in a while, but how is the rights of my painted product? Can I post it on pages like DeviantArt and Blogspot if I painted everything myself without using anything from the workshop except following the article?

Basically I'd say only use workshops for practice. I guess occasionally it might be OK to post a practice piece from a workshop as well, but if you do, make sure you give full credit to the artist who made the tutorial and where you got the workshop (i.e. refer to artist and the IFX magazine or website). The original is their copyright and you can't claim copyright for a copy of it even though you did paint it yourself.

Thanks for the quick and good reply!

I'll do what you said if I ever post one.

    You're welcome.

When using the DVD from the magazine today I noticed they include info on copyrights regarding workshops on the DVD's. Basically you may only use the workshops for your own personal use and practice. I'm guessing the info is available on the website in the workshops section too, but I haven't checked...
