    Corel Draw X4

Can anyone kindly tell me the difference between Corel Draw X4 Home & Corel Draw X4 Professional...

I can purchase Home from Staples for $99.00 or get Professional from Staples for $400.00 BUT no one at Staples knows the difference....

    Thanks

Can't say for certain, but looking at Corel's website it looks like the only difference is the number of licenses that are included. The standard version has a single user license and the business version has 3 user licenses. Other than that I don't know.

I guess Corel Draw & Corel Paint are not that popular.....

What do you use Coral Draw for. Can you draw and paint like in photoshop, or is it just vector drawing?

Corel Draw is a vector program, a bit like Illustrator.

BTW, I answered Kenmo's same question in another forum some time ago. (No difference other than non-commercial work only - and a little less content - and no upgrade).

Did suspect so. Nothing for me then.

    Re: Corel Draw X4

Corel Draw also included Corel Paint which is rumoured to be a very good Photoshop competitor... Corel Paint is not be confused with Corel Paint Shop Pro....

Yes, I'd consider buying Corel Draw if I didn't have to waste money on all the other stuff in the Corel Draw "suite". It's a pity it isn't available as a standalone like Illustrator.

    Re: Corel Draw X4

I have to use Corel Draw for work. I have used 12, X3, and X4. I don't recommend X3 or X4. Way too many bugs. Crashes alot, printing problems, a number of other things. They are on sp2 now. X3 & X4 do have some nice additions to the program, but until they get the bugs out..... It's kinda like a beta program unfortunately.

As for Photo Paint, it's alright for basic photo manipulation and retouching. I wouldn't want to try and create a painting out of it tho.

I would say if you really want Draw and not Illustrator, get 12.

You must have faith in yourself when no one else will....like now for example.
