Lot's of people seem to want to know how to produce comics, ink and colour linework, and prepare pencilled stuff. I decided to stick a list of useful tutorials by some comic pros on these very subjects. They are all geared toward using Photoshop so I thought this was the best place for it.
Mike Zeck - More pencilling and inking, also some use of halftone for black and white print (his process is similar to Bolland but he makes it a bit more complicated in my opinion): http://www.mikezeck.com/pgs/stepbystep/stepbystep.html
D'Israeli - Scanning line art, preparing and colouring (loads of info about scanning dpi etc - go to the education link on the main menu): http://www.disraeli-demon.com/
Freddie Williams II, has some great comic tuts. He used to do images for Palladium Games (Rifts, Heroes Unlimited, etc, for those RPG lovers out there). He now works for DC and is currently working on Robin for them.
I learned a lot of perspective techniques from observing his art as well as using his tutorials. I recommend them to anyone trying to create a really dynamic perspective in their comics.
"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy" - Tom Waits
Lol sweet, although I did like the tutorial he had on his website a bit better (I've got that issue, didn't know it was on the site for free though, :D). They still have a link (broken though) for it at gfxartist.com's tutorial section... seems to be the trend there as of late. Hopefully they'll update it soon :) "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy" - Tom Waits
*flicks numerous electrical switches as lightning strikes the tower, then suddenly the old thread twitches into life* Yes I have revived the long ignored thread due to somebody's question and I'm adding another link:
Kept meaning to add him here and never got round to it (and it looks like he's using normal zip files now instead of stuffit like last time I looked woohoo).
*switches off the lights because nobody ever seems to come in here anyway*
I was trying to give the place an air of sophistication. I don't know why you are up a ladder looking for the switch anyway it's right... *fumbles around for switch in the dark*... it's here somewhere... oops, that's not it, sorry Ian... ah there it is. *flicks lights on*
There's also a couple of free tutorial CD downloads available here:
Just updated the list at the top with the Official Brian Bolland which I stumbled across just now after losing it a while back. Added everyone's links to the first post to make it easier to find them.
