Yes,i like it a lot!Nice lighting.Maybe if you painted the area behind her head a little darker it could make the image work even better...

    Re: mechanic girl

nice Surface. real nice image here. my only crit would be the shadows that are around the shirt, the breasts, etc. in some places it seems like it would be darker than it is. I use the breasts as an example. Both on the breasts and under the breasts is the same shade of grey, although the shadow under the breasts would naturally be darker. there's also a few places around the image that mimick this problem.

other than that though. great image here. I absolutely love the line work.

    Re: mechanic girl

i like it a lot, reminds me of a comic book artist i cant quite remember the name of, pretty sure he did the xmen for a while, damn sure hes doen marvel work, that'll bug me all day, still excellent work man, it really looks like its 100% done on paper , unlike some images were you can kinda tell there done with a computer editing.

    Re: mechanic girl

you may be thinking about Josh Middleton who did Marvel's NYX series there for a while. Similar artist.

I like the image and it's still coming along great. I still think there's some shadows that but up against each other that should have a bit more distinction between them.

here's kind of what I'm trying to say. of course it'd be more refined than this, but this is a bit of an example.

    Re: mechanic girl

Thanks again Adam!  Your input really helped the image --it's now up in an exhibition!.  I'm not actually allowed to talk about the books yet, but they should be out in the last quarter of this year, possibly October, but I'm not 100% sure.  They're for Kingfisher publishing and are aimed at 10-16 year olds (although most people should have some interest in them).  You can guarantee I'll be plugging them as soon as they're available though!

Cheers for the comments buddy! :)

    new art :Thunderbolt George!

New art, as promised :) :

This is my entry for Computer Arts original game character design competition, here's what I wrote about him:

    Thunderbolt George!

George was an ordinary house rat who had no concerns in his life other than where his next meal was coming from. Being a rat, this made him wonder what he could eat next about every 3 seconds.

A strange unique (and most importantly tasty smelling) aroma drifted into George's cage one day. Feeling very hungry, and a little miffed at his owner dressing him up in costumes all of the time, George squeezed through the hole he made at the back of his cage when he thought it may be edible!

Becoming so obsessed with the new food smell, George completely overlooked the fact that he had unwittingly walked through an inter-dimensional portal to the Chaos Planet, a parallel world which has been taken over by cruel food based life forms. George is unaware of the evil intentions of the food fiends, but once he accidentally lands on one it changed back into it's natural (and very edible) state. Join George on his inadvertent adventure to save the land by reverting the monsters to their natural state and eating as much as he can! Will he save the Chaos planet? And if he does, will he realise he has? Or will he just take nap?

A crazy fast paced 3D platform game with intuitive controls. Use Georges tail to whip enemies, grab onto overhead pipes to swing across gaps or stealthily sneak above his enemies before dropping onto them and crushing them with his weight! Get enough momentum by running and his tail will start spinning like a propellor allowing him to fly through the air like a helicoptor, using his ...ahem...recycled nutritional nuggets (ie, rat poo!) to bomb enemies! Use Georges keen sense of smell to discover hidden routes through the levels and sniff out secrets! Makes the most of Georges insatiable appettite and literally eat through an enemies armour!

PS:  Just noticed this thread's been rated 5 stars, thanks everybody! :D
