    Can't figure it out

I am having trouble creating a hair brush. I am under the assumption that I can create one by placing small dots and then adjusting them in the brush settings to stretch them out into lines. I can only get dotted lines. I see the effects of these brushes not only in hair but some paint with what it seems is a cool brush that creates a kind of "combed" effect. Advice please.

lower the spacing to get it more 'liney' it'll still look dotted zoomed in but it will work, but to be honest i find it works better if you set it to the smudge tool & run it through the hair to create more convincing strands, have a go at that, if you get stuff i'll upload mine for you. Hope it helps!

Have you got any paint brushes lying around? I found getting an old paintbrush (i find goat's hair works well),loading it with dry water colour or acrylic, then creating dabs on a page, scanning it & creating a capture from that. Set the spacing to 0ish or use it as a smudger as mentioned above. Works for me.
