Hi, it has a nice start, and at stage 2 it actually looked very nice. I suggest that you go back to stage 2, and use more gradual tones to establish forms, then add in highlights and stronger colors. It is going in the right direction but you need to be more patient with your brush strokes and build up the values. Don't jump into hard edge solid colors and high lights too quickly.

I agree with Yian, the second stage looks good, but then you went too sharp and too saturated, making the background compete too much with the foreground character.
