question about brushes for Justin Gerard's worshop issue 45

I just had a quick question about the file provided on the DVD of issue 45 for the water colour to digital workshop from Justin Gerard.

I am using a mac and when I try to open the file it just opens the stickies application and shows nothing, when I try to open it in photoshop or painter it says its not  a readable file. I got the issue from the book store I always pick it up at, but all the issues were slightly damaged but I got it anyway. I noticed a little bit of damage on the disc so I was wondering if that could be why I can not open it or if I am doing something wrong, All the other files on the disc so far have worked without any problems.

the name of the file on the dvd is     JGMonsterBrushes_IFX.tpl

but it only shows a blank page as an icon, preview also shows nothing,

    Thank you.

I haven't tried to open it yet but if you google .tpl it tells you that it is a photoshop tool preset (ie not a brush which generally have .abr file extension)-I think (?) that means that it loads all the details for that brush dont know if that helps at all?

You are correct, it is a tool preset.

Copy the file to the Presets/Tools folder wherever Photoshop is installed. You will find the brushes listed in the Tool Presets palette in photoshop when you start it up (in the little drop down menu for the palette somewhere near the bottom of the list).

thank you very much for the help,

I had one question about it, I copied the file into the preset tools folder, but was just wondering cause There are now 2 brushes I see one is labeled Mbrush01 kill it kill it and the other is Mbrush02 lobsters from hell, are those the correct ones? or did I do something wrong, I am using cs4,

    thankyou again for your help.

I don't recall reading the workshop so I can't say for certain but I should think that's correct if it's what appears in the palette.
