TOURNAMENT RULES
This is an elimination tournament, the precise structure of which has been detailed in the following post [ http://community.imaginefx.com/forums/permalink/212036/211863/ShowThread.aspx#211863] That thread also contains questions and clarifications on particulars of this rather unique contest. However, let me refresh some details…
FIGHTCLUB RULES
THE BASICS
Two IFX members have a draw-off contest. These participants, or challengers, 'do battle' with a character of their own design, shown in conflict with their opponent. The challenge, or round, will last two weeks. Votes are then cast by members of the IFX forums, and the winner of the round will progress to the next part of the tournament…
A few rules…
THE ROUND
Each challenger must post at least two images in the wip thread, and one image in the final thread. The wips can be a progression towards a final picture, of they can sketches in their own right; but a minimum of three total images is expected. All artwork must be created specifically for the challenge within the specified timeframe. During the fight, the contestants may fight however they feel artistically appropriate (ie still images, animations, etc) - but the final entry must be a static image. The final image must feature both characters in a state of conflict. Please note: both characters must be clearly recognisable in the final image (disqualifications can occur).
WINNING / LOSING
When both contestants have posted their final images, voting begins. Voting will lasts for two days. 1 person 1 vote.
Votes are made at the caster’s discretion – they may vote based purely on the final image or they can vote on who entertained most during the round.
The challenger with the most votes, wins. The winner of the round stays on, and fights in the next round. The winner must use the same character they just fought with. The next round will usually starts immediately after voting closes on the current round. The loser(s) gets to choose who takes part in the next round.
If the votes are tied – then the participant who received the drawn number of votes first – they will win.
If a challenger fails to post 2 wips and 1 final image within the timescale, they will automatically lose.
If a challenger fails to comply with the rules or is considered to be operating outside of the spirit of this challenge then disqualifications can occur.
Technical stuff over.
Thanks for listening. Any questions, just ask.
