Interesting, but I feel the creature lacks texture. It doesn't look slippery or slimy enough. Come to think of it nothing appears wet. Which is a bit of a drawback for an underwater scene. Could be really good just needs more work.

Not bad, but his head is twisted too far round.

I actually disagree with Shady Lane about the "wetness". Things that are underwater don't look wet while they are there - it's only when they are out of the water, but still have some clinging to them, that they glisten.

Em's right on the water thing. I think he may be looking at the head from the wrong direction though. not sure. when I saw the image I got the same impression but after looking at it I got the impression that we're actually looking at it's chest which would have the head rotation alright. unfortunately that means the waist is wrong. one way or another there's something a bit odd and off about the character.

No, I know we're looking at its chest.

The chin, however, is further back than the shoulder, which isn't right. Try and twist your head that far round - it'll hurt.

Whilst I agree that something looks off with the body angles and head twisting, it is a newly discovered creature which does not necessarily need to move in the same ways as we do. I guess it could be very flexible and twist in unnatural looking ways?

If the neck and torso anatomy looks similar to human anatomy, it couldn't move differently than we can.

lol. There I just tried it Em. Though it's rather uncomfortable I can twist my head and at the same time roll my shoulder forward so that my chin rests on my shoulder. unfortunately I can only do it when turning my head to the left. if I turn my head to the right I can't even get my chin close to the middle of my shoulder.

maybe part of the problem too is the number of muscles he's got in the neck? turning my own head in the direction it will turn, I only get one large muscle that goes tight and it isn't too defined.
