Hi,

This is my first real post and I suppose my first real attempt at a proper digital painting. The character is from a short animation I made whilst at college. As I'm currently jazzing up the old portfolio I thought it would be nice to jazz him up too :)

Looking great so far,

 I think though that the white background stood out more for me (but i'm sure thats just my personal taste since i never get backgrounds done )

I think you're right about the background. Havn't gone for white but a very light grey.

Its weird that you should say that too, my girlfriend said the same thing. Maybe I'll have him walking down a street of multicoloured cobbles or something :)

Here's another small update. Finished the items inside his pencil pot. I'm very slow at this digital painting malarky so bear with me :) I will finish this painting soon :)

I was also wondering about the hook on his fishing rod. Do you guys think I should keep it as a paper clip or maybe use a little picture hanging hook or something similar?

Ok, this is starting to look a little more finished now. I was wondering whether or not to shade to cobble stones/ Polka dots or leave them flat colour?

Any thoughts? 

I like them as it is, but I'll probably like them even if you shaded them.  It's something that would look good on a T-shirt or a card. 

Well I decided to shade the stones and I think that's how I'm going to leave this one :)

Even thoug I'm done with this one it would still be good to hear what people think :)
