You have the entire month of June to complete this assignment. All pictorial evidence must be submitted by midnight june 30th 2008.  The final image must show you and one opponent. It must be obvious that you are losing (or have lost) the fight.

I also expect involvement and updates during the month on this thread. You must post a minimum of two images. For example, these can show you trying to start fights, the first punch that you take, or they can be progression towards the one final image you post. If you don’t post wips – you’re disqualified. Simple.

 

All images must be created specifically for this challenge.

 

 

If you haven’t already done so, please post a picture of the character you are going to be using for this homework assignment before you start fighting. Ideally we want  a full body sketch (not just a portrait).  And your character must be your own original design.

I anticipate one or two questions….

 

1. Your opponents can be anybody you choose, as long as they are not currently a member of IFX Fightclub. They can be living or dead and they can be real or fictional.  It’s your choice. If you could choose anybody to beat you in a fight, who would it be?

 

For me…? Well, this is my shortlist (in no particular order)

• Joe Pineapples
• Lobo
• [Giger’s] Alien
• Wolverine
• Calvin & Hobbes

 

Actually, I’d quite like if you guys would pick my opponent, I don’t want any accusations of preparing my fight in advance. I’m on the same playing field as everyone else here...

 

 

2. You may only fight one opponent. If they are a group, ie the TMNT, then you must only be fighting against one of them. Mob combat will be dealt with at a later date

 

 

3. The prize: You will win the respect of your peers. Your trophy will be scars you bear from the beating you take…

 

 

4. Let me stress… you must lose the fight. This assignment is not open to interpretation.

 

 

So, go forth and get in trouble. Start fights wherever you can with whoever you can. But remember – if you win the fight, you lose.

Hmm.. interesting, not what I was expecting but I like it. And.. Calvin & Hobbs lol, it's gonna have to be Calvin though I reckon, THAT would be funny, are you going to use Tellyhead though?

And can your opponent be of your own making too, I presume?

Think I'm gonna work up the Walrus, done a few wee pencil sketches so far, but nothing I'm overly happy with, will get something posted soon. Think I was expecting the Royal Rumble thing, where we'd all have to draw all the contenders in on big fight , quite releaved that's NOT what it is lol. And don't worry, we should be able to keep an eye out for Fight club while you're away between a few of us (I hope) Obviously you'll be worrying about it the whole time you're away on your honeymoon Yeah right!

lol, i wanted to save the royal rumble till we had about fifty members! nah, im kidding.. twenty would be plenty

would be cool if a few of you nice people could keep this wee baby on track... cos this thing is bigger than all of us! yeah, im gonna be searching for internet cafes while im on honeymoon trying to check up on you guys - i fully expect fighting to break out in the aisles... id be suprised if anyones still alive by the time i get back.

and im gonna be pretty tied up when i move to liverpool too.. but maybe this will be self sustaining by then?

Ok my first wip. Bruce Wayne was traveling through China where he heard a rumor of people being eaten by some strange bat like monster. Deciding to investigate he went to a small village where many of the disappearances had occurred. He watched as an old man was lifted out of the fog and into the air by a pair of claws and glowing red eyes. Following the man's screams he suited up and as Batman made his way to an old monastery. Making his way up with his bat grappling hook he reaches the roof and sees a strange creature. Nos already knows he is there do to his incredible hearing.

brilliant start rey, really like the gargoyle-esque otcrop Nos is perched on. i wondered if somebody was gonna do batman - i guess urs is the perfect character for that.. and a story too! very cool.

will have to get started on mine soon - unless anybody else chips in soon, looks like i got the kid and his tiger to contend with. eek!

i started thinking about this a wee bit - i could have great fun with this..

think i'll do comic strips for my posts.. which is actually really cool, cos i hardly ever do any drawing in that comic style.. gonna be a real challenge though!   gonna try and make my first one tellyhead trying to annoy and provoke calvin into a fight

btw, reference used! sketched straight onto the computer but with book propped open on my desk.. im gonna have to copy some poses until i get to know the character.. i'd forgotten how funny and profound calvin can be.  i got so many ideas for this wee story of mine..

pix, gonna enjoy seeing ur version of a leather clad kate beckinsdale. loved the underworld films - the wolves were better in that than in so many other movies.
