The next topic is The Hobbit !

To coincide with the pre production of the Hobbit by Peter Jackson and Gullermo del Toro, I present to you the Hobbit. (yes you heard it here from me first). Feel free to imaginate any scene. be it a character, a idyl pastoral landscape, a rickety dragon in his cave, or any character/creature/enviroment/transport or industrial design  will be considered for this event. I advice to choose a scene. Work up the composition loosely, and then tighten up. Looking forward to some stellar and hobbitony imagery.

You have until Thursday, May 22 to finish your images.  Final images must be posted in the HERE  by Midnight (GMT) on that day with a five minute grace period to those of us overseas.

Smaug Hall

The illustration depicts Smaug breathing fire upon the hobbit and the party, as they try to steal across the room, but ending up in scurrying over to the hidden door/bolthole (far left). The Pillars are reflective of the solid Dwarfven design.

Misty Mountains:

It shows Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, Kili, Fili and Bombur.The rest of the dwarves are out of view.

This is a scene from their way up and over the Misty Mountains, before their encounter with the Goblins.

As mentioned, voting ends at midnight May 23 GMT time. Winner will then have until midnight Sat May 24 to post the next topic. If a topic hasn't been posted by this time they forfeit the chance to choose the next topic and it will be chosen for them by the mod. This is simply to keep the challenges moving at a timely pace with little or no interruptions.

It has been brought to our attention by members of the forums that there may or may not be an issue with vote tampering and cheating within the challenges. Be assured that multiple puppeteers are being watched, as well as their marionettes. Cheating in the challenges is highly frowned upon by everyone and creating multiple false accounts is a breach of the terms and conditions of the ImagineFX site. Any accounts believed to be false will have their votes silently vetoed when tallying is done at the end of the challenge and at the mods discretion. Those thought to be cheating will also be given a private warning and the accounts thought to be false will be forwarded on to the IFX management for further investigation.
