Unfortunately I missed out on the deadline, because yesterday was Queensday in my country and while I thought, 'let's just finish it and update tonight right before the deadline' I then completely forgot about it...

Still, everyone's done a great job and I would still want to post my semifinal piece here for people to see :)

Onto the next challenge!

So, having left it for a little bit and come back with a fresh pair of eyes I've decided to desaturate the blue a bit and tone down the moon since they seemed to be overwhelming the scene. Think I'm just gonna go ahead and get this posted in the finals since I have a busy day tomora, good luck everyone, there are some fantastic entries!

next I played around with the overall colours and light direction in the scene, as well as trying to flesh out a decent start for the sky in the background, since I wanted this to be a featuer in the scene....

Okay, I think this is going to work for the windows. Still need to tweak the ones on the shadow side a little and get that shade of yellow closer to orange than green. I love my Cintiq tablet but color matching can be a little tricky sometimes.

My task this afternoon is to basically finish off the outer docking ring and then move on to final details like people and additional airships tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully I will finish this thing in time.
