Fair play?

Is it fair game to say why you didn't vote for artwork in a challenge while voting is still open? Or to a lesser extent why you did vote.

You might influence others decision and change the outcome of the challenge. I ask because I vote before looking at others top 3. Then I go for a look at the other votes.

A few times recently when reading the X-Factor style voting I've felt a little like it might have manipulated my votes if I'd read it all first.

This thread is to be used to place your suggestions for future weekly challenge ideas. Examples of the kind of challenges we intend to do can be seen in the opening post of other thread. Fabledgoat and I will try to pick regularly from any suggestions posted here either completely or in part, so you can either post a detailed idea, or a brief sentence.

Tarot Card Bi Weekly Challenge #8 The Magician - FINAL

Welcome to the bi-weekly challenge to depict a tarot card from the Major Arcana,. This will last approximately a year. At the end of the year we will have the full Major Arcana. Two wips and a final are required for entry.

The only real stipulation is that The final image must be in the form of a card, with the card name and number, not just a painting
I will give you a brief meaning, but it's probably a good idea to do your own research.

Brief: On the lookout for another classic fantasy series to turn into a potentially lucrative blockbuster (following the successes of the likes of Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and John Carter) Hollywood executives decide on Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné.

Description: Design a teaser poster for the forthcoming movie, which must include Elric and his sword, Stormbringer. Elric's appearance is described in the first book as "the colour of a bleached skull, his flesh; and the long hair which flows below his shoulders is milk-white. From the tapering, beautiful head stare two slanting eyes, crimson and moody, and from the loose sleeves of his yellow gown emerge two slender hands, also the colour of bone."

The monthly theme is open to interpretation.
For clarification: when I first thought of this theme I didn't realise there are mainly a few "universes" where it is used (Warhammer and book series by R Hobb and RJ Sawyer respectively). You can choose to illustrate these existing "universes" or make your own interpretation. Is the farseer an oracle, a giant telescope for finding aliens or a gadget to see into the future? Is it magic, steampunk, hi-tek, or something else entirely? It's up to you.

This week our challenge is in honour of the great Ralph McQuarrie who sadly died this weekend - thanks to zinc and others for the theme

R-MQ Shipworks droid

Description: Deep within the bowls of the Incom Corporation shipyards is the R-MQ design droid, responsible for some of the galaxies most notorious star fighters. To honour their 35th anniversary the Incom Corporation his allowing the public it's first glimpse of this exceptional droid.

Brief: Design and render the droid responsible for creating some of the most recognisable and influential star fighter through-out the known universe. As a homage to the late Ralph McQuarrie the droid may draw influences from any of the films he worked on.

Deadline: Midnight (GMT) on Wednesday 14th March (this is Wednesday night, Thursday morning for those that need clarification). There is a 5 minute grace period allowing people to get their posts and links sorted. A moderator will then post a list of valid entries after checking links and voting will begin until the following midnight. Crits are welcomed during the voting process.

Tarot Card Bi-Weekly Challenge #3 - The Star - Finals

For those of you who don't know about this, we are going to have a bi-weekly challenge to depict a tarot card from the Major Arcana. This will last approximately a year. At the end of the year we will have the full Major Arcana. Two wips and a final are required for entry.
The only real stipulation is that The final image must be in the form of a card, not just a painting

I will give you a brief meaning, but it's probably a good idea to do your own research as there are much richer and indepth meanings to the cards.

The Storm
Brief: Depict an alien environment in the midst of a storm - this could be a tropical storm, an electric one, a tornado etc. The landscape must be clearly alien, everything else is up to you.
