I take it that wasn't a compliment. I do occasionaly give constructive crits on peoples artwork when I think I have something useful to say.

I'm not trying to chase anyone away from the site and perhaps I misinterpreted a few things you've said.

Yeah, and it was prettey childish on my part, everyone has different opinions just the same as evryone has a different accent - you said yourself that the world would be dull if we all spoke the same, the same applies to opinions too, just look how spicy this thread has become due to a difference of opinion xD
Can I change the subject here? not because I feel the need to sway away from what we're talking about but I would like to compliment your darth maul picture! at first i thought his eyes looked a bit too sincere for darth maul and this stuck out to me - This of course was before i noticed that it was face painting and was well impressed..

Your original point was well made and everybody agrees with it, including staff. It slid a little off track as it often does but I don't see how you've offended anyone. Probably best for us all to move on now that some of us have flexed a muscle or two. But hopefully you will feel more welcome in the coming days. :-)

How can you be content with a dialog that has been developed out of pure laziness? ;words cut short because people simply cant be ass'd saying the un-abbreviated proper term! Theres nonthing in the way that we speak that would make anyone in their right mind proud to use. On the other hand - Scotland has been the home of many inventors of great and useful items throughut history and with a kick ass heritage and sense of freedom - how can I not be proud to be Scottish? - I have two beautifull kids, just because i rant about the mess that they are well capable of producing, doesn't mean that i'm not proud of them both. :)
Why compare a polite English woman to a Scot from River City? A common problem with proud Scots like you is the infallible ability to point out the worst in us. You're back tracking now and still creating an impression that the whole of Scotland speak lazily.
I'm pretty sure every country has their own version of a Glasgow ned dialog. It's not just Scotland. Chavs and Rednecks are just two examples.
I have a clear Scottish accent as the vast majority of us do.

One day i was sitting in my humble abode doing some work on the PC while the news was on. I did not perk up and say to myself, I am goin to listen out and compare both these accents. It was the shocking difference that stood out to me when the programme rover city began. Now this was quite some time ago. I am not slating the accent. I apologize, i should have been more literal than i have been. Its slang ned speak that embarasses me, In such a way that i will go out of my way to try and talk as polite as i can while dealing with clients or anyone professional because i admit i am slightly embarrased by the slang way of talking that I habbit.

Edit- and i would add that it wasn't apparent to me until i realised how bad it sounded on TV. Remember this is only my opinion

oh no you've upset the Scottish now scottishcyborg! :P seriously though i know what you mean, there are some Scottish/Irish/Geordie/Yorkshire accents (and others) that are really thick and gutteral, and it makes me cringe, and i agree it is embarrassing - Harle i don't think that makes someone less proud?

It would have been wildly different if he'd compared like for like as you have Kaz.

Everyone should realise that like it or not the media are responsible for training our minds to see beauty in their ideals. That includes how people should sound not just look.

Thank god(or whoever) for different accents and variations on language. The world would be a duller place without them.
