When I run my Colorvision Spyder 2 on it, I have to miss out most of the calibration steps because there is simply no way to manually change anything but brightness. Can anyone recommend a monitor - not too expensive - that has all the necessary buttons so you can adjust brightness, contrast, gamma, etc., with an on-screen display that tells you just how much you're changing them? Are you happy with the resemblance between your on-screen image and the image that comes back from the printers?

Cheers,

Dave

Wacom Cintiq 21ux or Laptop?

I thought about a few reasons to purchase a laptop. The first, being that I'm on the road alot and could use the free time on my digital artwork while away from home. The other would be to use the laptop as a way of showing my work to clients. On the other hand, I have a 9x12 wacom intuos at home that I use with my 24inch display, but would rather have a more accurate tablet to finish work faster. I also would prefer to feel as if I was drawing directly on canvas. As a digital artist, what would be the better investment for now. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one of the two at a later time, but have the money to buy something for now. The question would now be which one first?

Thanks!

tablet size?

I'm thinking of buying a new tablet since my graphire is slowly but surely dying. Since I'll soon be starting my last universtiy year, I think I'd like to invest in a more professional tablet, since my graphire was a fine starter, I'm probably going to invest into an other wacom, intuos most probably. I'm wondering about what size to get though. I want something fonctional I'll be able to set myself comfortably with and work for hours on, so the biggest models just seem bothersome. Any suggestion? Or even if you think there's an other brand then wacom, or perhaps a time of year when prices are lower?

where is your Tablet?

Do you use it in your lap like a drawing pad can be or is it on the desktop/table?
