Hi, Im RianChen from Malaysia, these day im curious tht concept art can be 3D, so call 3D concept art. So i did a 3D concept art, why i call it tht, is bcos i limit my time to do this work , 3 hour have to finish from Maya to Vue then touchup in photoshop CS2, when working in animation house, all the concept art will translate into 3D , of course the lighting too. lighting is very important to archieve the goal of what director want to show,. thank you
skunk - What more i can say , perhaps some 1 can help me explain to you what is concept art and the final work. thank you for voting 1 star for my evil war, that is a big support and showing me your art sense standand.i think why i posting here is because i want to share more about the
digital art, hopefully you can understand my purpose is making more new
friend. wish to see your work soon . thank you
What? - it does look like low end 3d - cant take the heat, get out of the fire!
The first 2 look more like what Rian is doing. The two at the bottom are more in tune with what a qualified art director would want to look at (I'm talking quality -light, shadow, atmosphere, depth not the individual content). And if the work I'm receiving from one of my artist is the same on this post i may as well save my money and open up Vue or some other prefab package and do it myself, saving a *** load in cash. I'm being honest here - Rian is a fairly good 2d artist - he is not the same level at 3d - as he will find out for himself if he puts this in his portfolio.
still arrogant, you've been here what 20 minutes or something, there are ways and means of saying something. Choose your words wisely before posting before you risk everyone just thinking you're a tw*t, before you've even had chance to take part in the site.
Well, i find riahheartdesign's work very breathtaking.Concept art, i guess, is a kind of rough to help someone visualise an idea and CONCEPT. This works for me. Sometimes you just can't argue with work that delivers the brief.

Are you a representative of this magazine? Because someone should keep you under control, I backed up what I said and you are still uncouth and rude to me. And from reading only a few of your many other posts, insulting and bossing other people seems to be an occupation with you. Is this how you treat all new members? If all you want is for people to ooh and ah at your work create a joke thread like over at Conceptart.org, that way you'll ensure you never learn or improve ever again.
lol! killer, you seriously are so arrogant, you have read my many posts? if you had read many of them you would know that i never boss people around in fact if you ask people you will find that i WELCOME all new members. i find it warming that you have searched for other posts by me, you have over 2600 to go through, that's dedication you're showing.
so tell me which threads do i boss people about in? which posts do i ask for people to tell me how good i am? honestly, tell me. who the hell are you anyway? you may notice, that i am here, in this thread, defending a new member, from people like you, who come in and say 'looks like poor quality', if you believe that is true, say why, say how to improve, actually are you worthy to tell rianheart how to improve? show me. i'm sure that you are amazing, but you haven't created a gallery so i don't know.
yeah i guess i am representative of the magazine, i'm a member, all members are representative of the magazine. and uncouth? i point you to your first post.
Ok - so you are, kind of, representative for the magazine. You are never at a a loss for spewing you opinion - volume over content, unfortunately. And now you are, what?, official spokesthing for Rian? BTW Ive seen Rian's other work and most of it is fairly good, Still some basic mistakes but I'm confident he'll get better. If I was to go out on a limb, I'd say he doesn't have that much 'classical' trainig as an artist, but he has ability and thats why I even took the time to comment.
Anyway back to you, harpy - What's wrong with it? Let's start by asking a single simple question - What is the focal point, exactly, of this image?
Answer correctly and that will give you a hint at one thing that is wrong with this image. And yes, there are more.
Carnegie - thanks - a highly respected individual. It's nice to know I occupy so much your time and mind. But that's probably not a stretch for you, being a time lord and all. Well one good turn deserves another, so I took the liberty of finding a new avatar for you, too.
