Welcome to the bi-weekly challenge to depict a tarot card from the Major Arcana,. This will last approximately a year. At the end of the year we will have the full Major Arcana. Two wips and a final are required for entry.

The only real stipulation is that The final image must be in the form of a card, with the card name and number, not just a painting
I will give you a brief meaning, but it's probably a good idea to do your own research.

done! seriously though, I was thinking of having the Death and Devil card characters of that series as drow elves, so this will provide me with a good excuse to paint up a ''practice'' dark elf character for an alternate arcana card set...now if only I could find those sketches done a while ago

Here's my next iteration. Glad we've got til next week to finish.

This is my first WiP for the magician, and thanks to the delay the two cards on the left are an adaptation of the moon and a new wheel of fortune image, which fit in with my Freaks and Fortune theme and start to create a more uniformed look for the cards from past challenges.

A quick update, to give more of a feeling to the card. I'm trying to fit the four traditional symbols in here, and painted in a quick colour concept.

trying to replicate the colours on the black crow from the wheel of fortune on a humanoid's skin; it's mostly there but still needs some tweaking here and there - there will be a cup, wand and pentacle in there attached to his belt, each branded with the corresponding elemental sigil (gotta look at my notes again)

Thanks Mercury.  I was gonna go cloe to wht you were doing but you beat me to it!  Twitch, since we are sharing, I was almost done with a death card so i'll share it.  I've got layouts already for the world card, the lovers, and possibly the empress.

I agree with Mercury, your backgrounds chris are nicely textured. And I like that colour gradient on the death card.

Mercurycat loving the rabbit ears poking out of the hat. I like that sort of quirk.

Heimdayel, feels like you've suddenly inverted all of your usual warm colours, but it kind of gives a more misty, mysterious fairy/elf feeling. And I think I prefer your new background-border combo.

As for my next WiP, I've added more depth and colour to the waistcoat, and taken away the outline to see if I can play with the image without too much confinement.
