    Domtopia:
CGI simply can't capture the full range of possibilties and even imperfections of reality, no matter how sophisticated the software or the abilities af the artists involved.

Not yet but I wouldn't bet on it never being possible. Superman Returns was made several CGI generations ago. Compare it to John Carter (these are movies that I've seen, there are probably better examples).

Also, it could be argued that many CGI characters are a mix of puppetry and CGI when you see Andy Serkis et al acting out the actions in real life with the spotty suit on.

Nazi regime did cruel and terrible things, and it's a shame someone is cashing in on such morbid fascination.

Oh don't get me started on cashing in Yian when Americans constantly represent themselves as heroes of World War 2 when they are the only nation in history to have used a nuclear bomb on civilians, I wish people would get over it already, we already have several wars on our hands no one seems to care about yet we still hear people moaning about something that happened several decades ago like it personally happened to them. lol

Erm...so why promote the Nazi film if you feel that way about US involvement?

(I should add that I've no idea what the film is about. May be no big deal.)

There is a great deal of CGI in it, but from what I have seen of it to date I'm not convinced there's actually any real acting in it Stick out tongue

I know the thread is titled "Let's start a war!", but I'm not sure the topic was about whether films should use Nazis instead of puppets.

    Re: Let's start a war!

That's because it's a dark sci-fi comedy :P They've got Sarah Palin president and if you pause you'll notice the ship that transforms in the trailer has the U.S.S George W. Bush on the side :D

We'll just have to see how it goes Banjaxed, I'm not holding my breath, but it looks more promising than the rubbish hollywood come up with.

Is it not out of Hollywood then? It looks pretty big budget.

Although I didn't see anything in the trailer that indicated the use of models, real sets and such...

Ace. There have been a few high profile european films of late. I thought Troll Hunter looked pretty good, but I haven't seen it yet. The trolls looked great though, even if they were all CGI Stick out tongue

Edit: Yeah, it looks that way Banj.

It would be an unusual take on Godwins Rule that's for sure.
