here's my very early WIP- it remains to be seen if I can wrap this up by the deadline

 

 

Hey all, glad I wasn't the only one who had to do some research. Anyways, here my first WIP:

 

Here is my first WIP from a couple days ago, didnt get time to upload, have done a bit since, will upload another soon. :) Loving everyones so far!

Doctor Dark: Great concept...If you have got issue 59, there is a workshop in there that will help you get the effect you want with your sword.

Great to see some more entries and the deifferent painting process of everyone

I've had a mess around with some colours and I'm at a brick wall with what to put in my 'cut-outs' I think I will go for a simple graphic style castle/tower thingy

Hey, here is an update on the "elric" challenge. I worked on eliminating some of the confusing light sources, moved the direction on the lips, and pushed the skin into a more bone type of look. 

Feed back is appreciated! 

Disco: Realy like this so far, I love that sketchy illustrated style, it so hard for me to not to get tight, and loosen up, so I really envy the style! 8)

lol. From a Drought of entries in the last challenge to a Flood in this one! Great to see so many quality pieces coming along, always gives the extra impetus to get your own up to a standard. Thanks for the advice and feedback on my own, ill probably be posting my Final next...

Gods i love Michael Moorcock books. 

I hate to think what i'd be like if I hadn't read Eternal Champion when i was a kid.

mangle - someone mentioned it already that the dark space might need some "filling" or the character to be enlarged... Also is Elric sitting on something? His pose suggests that he is falling down as there is no chair, throne or something behind him. But the light beam works nice so some "dusty, fogy, misty" background would make a mood.

sugar - I like the different color scheme in your first wip. I am missing some cold range colors for a contrast in your last wip. Like some blue tones for example in the sky or even his cape or so... The face looks a bit metalic, but the rendering you've done is awesome.

voluspa - excellent details and rendering. He looks very much like an albino.

Added a few details, and implied his throne, so he's no longer floating, lol.

Also enlarged Elric just a wee bit more.
