Elric of Melniboné

Brief: On the lookout for another classic fantasy series to turn into a potentially lucrative blockbuster (following the successes of the likes of Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and John Carter) Hollywood executives decide on Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné.

Description: Design a teaser poster for the forthcoming movie, which must include Elric and his sword, Stormbringer. Elric's appearance is described in the first book as "the colour of a bleached skull, his flesh; and the long hair which flows below his shoulders is milk-white. From the tapering, beautiful head stare two slanting eyes, crimson and moody, and from the loose sleeves of his yellow gown emerge two slender hands, also the colour of bone."

Deadline: Midnight (GMT) on Wednesday 18th April. (this is Wednesday night, Thursday morning for those that need clarification). There is a 5 minute grace period allowing people to get their posts and links sorted. A moderator will then post a list of valid entries after checking links and voting will begin until the following midnight. Feedback is welcomed during the voting process.

If I'm honest I didn't actually know who Elric of Melnibone was , so I googled him and was like 'what is this epicness on my monitor!'

So here's my wip 1 :)

Me too Disco Matt... I actually thought it was just someone made up for this challenge..

Seems like an interesting challenge though, now I actually know who he is!

Dave (Brasgalla) did several very nice Elric pictures a while back or I'd have had a very vague idea who he is...

Actually I still googled him to get a better idea for the challenge. I noticed many pics of him have pointy ears while the description is often the one kazky/em gave in the brief which doesn't mention his ears. Does anyone know if they ought to be pointy? (If I do this I'll probably just hide his ears in his hair anyway, but still...)

It's been a very long time since I read any of the books, but I don't believe Melnibonean's have pointed ears. However they aren't technically humans, so I think over time some artists may have given them pointed ears to high-light the difference.

That's what I thought when I saw that version of The Time Machine - Jeremy Irons looks like Elric (specifically, Brom's take on the character), although Elric should be prettier.

Luke Goss's Prince Nuada from Hellboy 2 always reminds me of Elric. Speaking of films, wasn't there rumours of an Elric film a few years ago?

Hey guys and gals, I thought I would try one of these challenges. here is my 1st WIP, trying for something different for me, I like the loosness so far, any feedback on direction is welcomed.

I do have some questions on how this works, post at least 2 WIP,s here? and where does the final image go and what is the deadline? I am getting little lost in all the different challenges here in the forum, appreciate any clarification/direction.
