LOL! Martin, you make being here so much fun. :)

Ok here's the next Wip. Er, actually I will post a handful of variations.

Just when I thought I had it all figured out in my head...*sigh*

Here's the deal: I was attempting to play with a purely textural background. Thing is, I think It's just not me. I feel a great pull (as always) to put a background in. Even if it is just subtle. So I will probably do that, because I think this is not working. I'm leaning toward the blue for the color of the background...or? What do you guys think?

Also the hands-They obviously need work...those are next. As of now they are too big. Also, I'm just not sure the pose of them is dramatic enough. I think, for one, I will make them more skinny and creepy.

His face-needs more highlights....or I had been playing with idea of making his face and body mist like. I may just keep the body mist like. Which is how you see it here. It too, needs work (lighting). I wonder if the mist should be more or less pronounced at the bottom of the robe? (At the moment, it is just a visual thought.)

The fabric-I haven't delved too deeply in because at this point I need to make sure the magic (light) source doesn't change.

    Whew...

    Re: The Red Mage

First off great job so far. Vast improvement from last time I checked. Second I personally prefer the brown background but that's just me. Keep up the great work.

    Re: The Red Mage

Sorry bit overdue on the crits on this Val, been working too hard. Lol.

I too prefer the brownish background, I'd maybe even push the values towards the green colours to compliment the red.

Personally I too would have to have a background of some sort, even if it's just hinted at.

    Hope this helps.

p.s. The hands being clearly visible, although a little smaller would look better imho.

The hands I started revamping last night.

    I'm glad you stopped in!

    Thanks guys.

    Re: The Red Mage

oo this is looking very dark and mysterious Red. I'm glad you went for the brown. The red hands were a bit much. Do you get ifx on subscription Red? (they have quite an interesting lighting effect for the back ground on the art class that might work for you too? in march, mine arrived today)

    Re: The Red Mage

Thank you. And thanks for coming in Nimh. Yeah those red hands were whack! LOL! Yep, I'm moving forward with the brownish background, and I'm actually putting a "quiet" background in. You'll see. :)

I did get a subscribtion for Christmas. (After years of whining!LOL) I think it is suppose to start arriving in March. So, sadly, until then I get them one month behind. The current issue I have acces to is the one with the Samurai on the cover. Issue 39? But soon I'll be in step with the rest of you. Hooray!

    LOL!

I've allowed myself to be distracted with the monthly Fight Club challenge! Serena is currently taking up my time! I'm still hooked on Mr. Mage here so no worries about his completion. ;)

    Thanks for coming in Martin!
