Tarra's Scary Friend Beast

The monthly theme is open to interpretation as long as you show the beast and its friend "Tarra" (male or female).  You could just make a monster, but will it be a Scary Friend Beast?  Also don't let the title lead you to believe it has to be silly.

 

Deadline: Midnight (GMT) on March 31st (this is Saturday night, End of the Month, for those that need clarification). There is a 5 minute grace period allowing people to get their posts and links sorted. A moderator will then check links and post a list of valid entries after which voting will begin. If you have time, please include crits with your vote.
 

Please keep questions, comments, general chatter and all WIPs (required for entry) to THIS THREAD.
Post your entries in the finals thread and remember to include links to at least two wip posts in the wip thread.

 

Additional rules & info:
- If you forget the wip links or if the links are posted incorrectly, your entry may be disqualified. See link below on how to post wip links.
- All artwork must be the work of the entrant and completed within the time frame of the challenge (this means it should also be started after the challenge is posted).
- You may only enter one artwork per challenge and only vote once during the voting process.
- Please keep posted images below 500 kb in size and below 1000 pixels across, for the sake of everyone but especially those with slower connections.
- Moderators monitor the voting in these challenges to combat cheating and maintain fairness. We may discount any vote we consider suspicious, and will disregard any attempts at sabotaging the voting, or in any way screwing with these challenges.

Gonna try for a Warner Bros. Sci-Fi cartoon feel for this one with a mix of my own. Not sure if these are Friends or Foes at the moment thou.

Nice starts here. I actually thought the same as Gabriella, when I first read the theme. But I envisioned Tarra as a little girl. :) ... Like Bergy stated, really like the face expression on the big guy.

another fun one. I usually only draw figures so this is forcing me to draw other stuff which is great! Just spent a bit roughing out some brainstorms.

Tarra could be Male or Female.  I initially intended to make the name clearly ambiguous, but I was tired and Tarra seemed a good fit.

Yep, I thought of a little girl too. Interesting challenge, I'll see what I can come up with ;)

decided to work the friend angle more...realized the sketches I did earlier were all just girl+monster..not necessarily girl + friend monster.

 

 

Here is a rough sketch of my first idea..Tarra, a little girl who befriends a beastly-ghostboy from another century. Haven't decide how the ghost boy will look like yet. And for the background, I thought of making it all under the covers but not too sure how that will turn out in the end 

omg drawing monsters is so much fun! don't know why I've never done it before..going to be drawing them way more now. =]
