Thanks so much for fixing my links Voluspa, I would have been pretty sad to be disqualified from this month! And Midscrawl thanks for the tip! I know I'm going to be doing that from now on.

Can I suggest the image posting guide be edited to include the work around info for those of us using browsers which don't like the link button.

Sorry, Kaz. I must have misunderstood. I thought you meant to extend the deadline to midnight of March 1.

I think that's exactly what was done (at least that was my understanding as well, Smolin).  So being that it's March 3--can we vote now? I want to vote before I get busy and forget to come back in here in time.

Re: February 2012, MYFX Monthly Challenge - Farseer FINALS

Thanks for your hard work Kaz and Voluspa! Seems this challenge has been... well, a bit of a challange!

    My votes are:

Gnuchi: I love the eye on the eagle and although I think it could have definitely benefited from more detail in the feathers, just to add a little more texture I love the overall feel and presence of the image. Really lovely work.

Smolin: The brushwork is strong and the character has the best weight and form of all the finalists for me. Plus it's fun and interesting.

Catzombie: Again lovely brushwork. The dragons' face is exellent and the style is simple which apeals to me. It's got a nice traditional feel too in my opinion.

    1. Rageful, Love this concept, you improved very much.
    2. Pupuchaku, Love the wolfy ghost figures.
    3. Domtopia, Love the character.

(lol this is a great start for my first entry, no votes at all XD)
Can't wait to see who wins, there were so many great pieces, makes it hard too choose.

Re: February 2012, MYFX Monthly Challenge - Farseer FINALS

Fie! This is a tough choice to make...

    • 1) HansNomad: Apart from being a great concept, it's beautifully rendered, perfectly composed, and above all, very dramatic. Lovely work.
    • 2) Midscrawl: Yours is a very close second! Again, I love the concept, and it's painted with great skill and a keen observation of color & light. Fantastic job.
    • 3) Catzombie: What I love about this image is the composition and use of texture and restrained color to actually help tell the story. But I think it could use a touch more color and wee bit more refinement.

    A few other comments:

Domtopia: I loved yours, but the composition hurt it a bit. She's got great expression, I like the color scheme, and the anatomy on that leading hand is awesome.

Adventuregoat: Excellent concept and some really good anatomy on her hips and that foreshortened guy on the ground. I think it'd be improved by some deeper shadows and a few sharper edges for contrast.

Pupuchaku: A really great image, but I think adjusting the saturation would help unify the elements and add focus.

Helmighs: Great design and a well-balanced use of light & shadow, and restrained color. There's some stiffness in the anatomy but overall it came out really well.

Gnuchi: You really got that picture up to a wonderful level of finish. Excellent work.

Segujo: You busted your butt on it, and it shows. But the composition fell short for me.
