love the parrot, i love birds too, to an obsessive point ha ha, i've handreared my cockatiel and she's just perfect, so tame and loving. I do wish i could afford a cockatoo though.

I had a budgie when I was a kid and loved him to pieces. A cheeky little bugger, but adorable. Cockatiels are lovely bird. I think I'll do a study of one in the near future.

really like the color sketches (note to self...should do some) the parrot is very nice.  

I like birds as well but they don't seem to like me.

"Oh no..."

Something is happening. Something not good, that's for sure.

 

If anyone has some pointers to the errors of this pose. please point them out. It's been driving me nuts.

Hey, a couple things jump out about the piece, one is the head seems a tad out of proportion with the rest of the body, the other is it looks like the left shoulder blade is bent back really far. This may just be due to the way the fabric of the coat is rendered. It also makes it look a bit like the left arm/shoulder is coming out the bottom of the neck.

Thanks for pointing all that out. That's the problem when you do the head first and the rest later. I shall try it again building it up from a stick figure pose and then going into detail. Also referencing, even if I have to twist and bend in front of the mirror.

Those look extremely crappy. Need to practice more.
