This month has been full of utter madness, and now I'm only left with less than one week to work on this piece. orz

Anyway, I'll still give it a shot since I really like the theme, so here are some screenshots of my 3D base:

I basically smacked this 3D base together using some downloaded stock models for Google Sketchup, plus some of my own personal touches. I have a few options on how to proceed, depending on how much time I have left. Haven't finalised the composition either. *headdesk*

I decided to ditch the christmas tree and cropped my canvass, I think it looks a whole lot better now.

I might add a few leafless trees far in the background.

Christmas in Dwarven City is just another cold day.

I think this might be my last WIP before the final.

Painting progress with line sketch overlay.  Lots of details to work in--decided to throw a tree in the corner that was not in the original plan.  Wanted to create a warm atmosphere in the Inn where the dwarves are throwing their Christmas party, so I tried to contrast a bit through the windows with some cold colors.  My dwarven city is underground so there could be no snow on the window, so I went with a cold, stone-like color.  Still have a lot to do to pull this one off.

Gabriella--nice move in cropping your piece.  It focuses on the dwarf and all the detail you put into the face--great job!

Progress is painfully slow, urgh. And Photoshop simply insists on crashing every few minutes, I think I managed to fix the problem at last though. Hopefully. =______=;;;;;
