In my opinion:
First Place: Wolfie-Chama.
The great architecture in this piece really implements the idea of dwarves as builders, with the un-hewn rock in the lower corners to show how it was carved out of the rock. I personally have always thought of dwarves in caves and mines, and I find that this piece completely reminds me of this. Aside from this, the warm colours give it an earthy feel, and I can quite easily imagine this place as being under tons of rock. On the other hand it does seem a little empty, I miss something to fill the space at the entrance.
Second Place: Ciaranlucas.
I love bright colours, and it was a close call with first place in my books. It's got great christmas spirit, and with both a warm feeling to the windows and cold feeling to the outside, it really makes me want to cuddle up. On the other hand I find that more could have been done with the lighting, in some places I think it's too soft for the amount and strength of the lighting. The other thing that stopped me from placing it first was the constructions. They just seem impractical for what I personally see as stoud workers. This is of course a personal taste and should not be taken personal in any way.
Third Place: Klandestineone.
This image has a great point of view, and I think it could have been great if there was more too it. I love how my eyes travel to the dwarves first and then continue is a pleasant bow toward the structure in the background, and the rocks look great with lovely texture. On the other hand, I personally think that there should have been some snow on the rockface at least, even if it´s only starting to snow, and the female dwarf´s expression seems rather sad and her position a little far off.
