Quetzal:I really like the style of the drawing, Dave! reminds me of the tron lightcycles and of those cool asia record covers, almost abstract.
Thanks, Queztal! I'm certainly no Syd Mead by any stretch, but obviously I had him in mind. I think the lightcycle evocation is mostly because I was working from a series of ovals. Strangely, the more I look at this design, the more conventional it seems to me - especially given what certain technologies are making possible.
I've found out some really interesting things doing this challenge: the fact that conventional motorcycle frames are sometimes not even used now (!) and also the fact that, apparently, one cannot copyright auto and motorcycle designs. Yes, Sonofwolfhound3, some of those unicycle designs exist as working prototypes. I know that at least Bombardier have one...
Here's the latest... I'm pretty busy at the moment, so it's not as far along as I'd like... I still have many small details to add:
This thing's supposed to be electric, by the way, building on existing zero-emission racing technology. As one blogger put it: "...electric motorcycles offer specific advantages over their fossil-fueled equivalents, namely torque-on-demand, zero emissions and the complete lack of excruciatingly-hot exhaust pipes."
